Danny matriculated in 1999 at DF Malan High School and obtained a B.Comm (Management Accounting) degree from University of Stellenbosch in 2003. He did his 3 years SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) articles at Downing & Partners and become a fully qualified SAIPA member in 2007. He also became a qualified Independent Reviewer in terms of the Companies Regulations act. He continued his career at Downing & Partner and in 2010 became a junior partner of the firm. In September 2014, with the stepping down of Paisley Downing, he became a full managing partner together with Elmarie Laker. Danny is a fully qualified Professional Accountant and tax practitioner member of SAIPA with more than 22 years’ experience in private practice.
Elmarie matriculated from DF Malan High School in 1992, whereafter she obtained a National Diploma in Business Administration in 1995 at Cape Technikon (CPUT). In May 1995, she accepted a permanent position with ALVA Management Services CC. This enterprise was subsequently acquired by Downing Pienaar Management Consultants CC in July 1997. Elmarie obtained her B.Tech (Taxation) degree in 2001 from Cape Technicon (CPUT) and successfully qualified as a practicing member of SAIPA. She became a partner of Downing and Partners on 01 September 2003. In 2013 she studies further to obtain her Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Taxation from University of Pretoria. In 2017, she completed a certificate in Administration of Estates (UNISA). Elmarie’s field of expertise extends particularly to Taxation and Deceased Estates.
